A person must be considered legally blind as determined by the Administrator of Blind Services of the Vocational Rehabilitation Division of the Education Department to apply for the exemption for the blind. An exemption of 15,000 is deducted from the assessed value.
You must qualify as of April 1st by coming to the Town Hall to complete an application (PA-29) and produce a letter from the above agency. If the property if listed under a Trust name or a life estate a PA-33 state form must be signed and a copy of the trust or documents showing life estate must be provided.
