            The regular monthly meeting of the Rye Driftwood Garden Club will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the Fellowship Hall of the Congregational Church at Rye Center. Pam Tarbell of the Mill Brook Gallery and Sculpture Garden will conduct a discussion and visual presentation of art in the garden setting. The Hostess Committee for this meeting will be chaired by Jane Jensen. The monthly workshop will be held the following Tuesday, February 23rd , when participants will each create a personalized set of garden apron and gloves. Members may sign up for this workshop at the February meeting. Plans are well underway for the tenth annual Rye Art in Bloom to be held at Webster at Rye on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17, 2010. This cultural event is a collaboration of the Rye Recreation Department, Webster at Rye, the Rye Driftwood Garden Club and the Rye Art Study Group to promote and stimulate interest in the art of flower arranging, to share the talents of local artists and to foster community relationships. This exhibit is free to the public and open to all ages. A June tour of the gardens of Rye Driftwood Garden Club members is being considered. Members willing to volunteer their gardens for the tour should call Sandy Brubaker at (603) 926-4616 or email Sandy.Brubaker@comcast.net as soon as possible. A sufficient number of participants is necessary to continue planning.
