I want to post a temporary sign for an event. What are the regulations?

Selectmen’s approval is required for all temporary signs on Town-owned property including street right-of-ways.

  • Commercial identification or logos on signs are not permitted.
  • Sign duration is limited to 7 days.
  • Size may not exceed 4 square feet (For example: 2’ x 2’)
  • State Law prohibits signs on utility poles.
  • Signs at Parsons Field will be considered only from non-profit entities holding approved events on Town or School property.

Your request must be in writing and submitted to the Selectmen’s Office (Email is fine: jireland2@town.rye.nh.us) and must be received by Thursday at noon preceding the Monday evening Selectmen’s Meeting.
