Mission Statement
The purpose of the assessing function is to develop, through an annual appraisal process, equitable assessments for all properties within the Town. This assures that each taxpayer pays their fair share of the annual tax levy of the Town in accordance with State Statutes. Your assessing office strives to provide the best possible customer service. Information regarding: assessments, tax exemptions, tax credits, tax deferrals, current use assessments, conservation restriction assessments, abatement requests, gravel and timber tax is available through this office.
The Town now has GIS (Geographical Information System) Data Parcel information AND Vision Appraisal online database. The public can now view updated parcel information by clicking the Vision logo also to verify owner information when abutter labels are printed from our GIS online system
