NH DES Process for Wetlands Applications, Regular, Expedited and Shoreland

  • For any of the above permits the owner or owner’s representative needs to present the material at a regularly scheduled meeting. RCC meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
  • The paperwork required is the paperwork required on the permit application, as well as a survey, wetland delineations, building plans, hardscape plans, New Hampshire Coastal Viewer Map, Town of Rye Wetland Map, FEMA Map, tree work, plus any elevations of land/structures, photos, letters from abutters etc. that help to explain your case.
  • A site walk of the property will follow the presentation within the subsequent two weeks.
  • The site walk will be formally noticed by the town hall administration.
  • A formal RCC letter of recommendation will be written and sent to all interested parties, including but not limited to NHDES, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Building Department, attorneys, engineers, owners. RCC normally sends out the letter within two weeks of the site walk and before the monthly ZBA meeting.
